Keeping Busy

Writing this blog has not been much fun lately. Hopefully that isn’t a reflection of my current state. I am finding other things to keep me busy, here is something I like at the moment…no climbing involved!

Green Wall

I love the Green Wall. There are tons of problems and it’s great rock. Denise took these shots, it was chilly.  securedownload.jpeg  securedownload-1.jpegsecuredownload-2.jpeg securedownload-4.jpegsecuredownload-5.jpeg securedownload-6.jpeg

Duvet has me covered

My birthday is coming up…blah. Since I will probably take to my bed for a few weeks following the big one, I thought I would like a new duvet for a gift. For a while I wanted a few timeless pieces of jewelry, but have come to the conclusion that times are hard and there will be plenty more birthdays for such things. For once in my life, I do not think I would feel good about getting something extravagant. See, I am getting old and more mature!   Now, here they are. Which one should I wrap myself in?

France is Fancy

Our trip to France was amazing, each time I go I like it even more.  Now that I have been there to climb and not just eat amazing pastries and shop, I realize maybe Paris is for me, or not I missed the dogs. Here are some photos, enjoy. On another note, I really hate this blog at the moment and need to change it…not so fancy to me any longer. hpim0618.JPG hpim0583.JPG        hpim0622.JPG  hpim0570.JPG  hpim0608.JPG  hpim0647.JPG

My Morning Beauty Routine, Exposed

I have been using anti-aging products since I was twelve and I feared how haggered I might look by eighteen thanks to my summers on the beach.  My family thought I was crazy and  couldn’t believe how vain I was.  Back in 1993, the key ingredient was aloe and chamomile. Now we know that stuff is for hippies and the formulas I slather on day and night are made by my personal saviors in a Swiss lab.  If I could have got my hands on this stuff  at twelve, I would easily be passing for eighteen at the moment. Now, I just have to settle for 25 and pray it stays that way for a bit.   Check out my secret below, what do you think? BTW, my pupils haven’t looked that big since New Years 1999 or was it 2009?

But My Hand Was Made Strong

Who needs redemption when Chef can prepare meals like this?  Saffron risotto, topped with eggplant, fennel, and sauteed onions.  I am dieting in preparation for France, lots of cheese, plenty of wine, and a of course petit fours.   hpim0561.JPG

I’ll Take The Cake

Happy Valentine’s Day world.  Here in SLC it looks more like Christmas, there is about a foot of snow covering our cute little house and it does not seem to be letting up.  I thought I would share with you some photos of my V-Day cupcakes. This is why I don’t cook and have a chef prepare most of my meals.  It’s just not my thing.  XXOOXXO off-to-a-good-start.jpgcupcakes.jpgyum.jpg

Murphy’s Law

I am so excited for our trip to Font in three weeks.  It seems like heading out of the country in late February is becoming a good tradition. Last year it was Turkey, not bad for two people who have a mortgage and full time jobs…well at least one of us works full time. Making the choice to live a life that can sometimes feel constricted by the house and dogs, especially when many of our friends live on the road climbing it is nice to be able to get away for a few weeks.  Starting last week I have been training in the gym during the afternoon when it is quiet and peaceful except for my own tantrums when I don’t send the damn sloper problems.  I feel strong physically and mentally, its awesome. Not only am I sending hard plastic bs, but mentally I am stronger. I am working on sending the same hard problems every time I am in there and getting through the hump of not pushing myself when you only have yourself to challenge you.  So the inevitable happens, I f*!k my ass  (literally) up after a good three hours of sick plastic crushing.  It happened Thursday and by that evening no joke I was tiled at a 45 degree angle.  Not being able to stand upright sucks and it made Luke anxious, but then I make him anxious if I look at him wrong.  Today I saw the physical therapist, after lots of adjustments, massage, ice, and finally a sexy layer of tape across my back in hopes to straighten me out he thinks by Friday I might be able to try some climbing again.  So, to that I say hell yes tape me up and hopefully I will be outside next weekend crushing in the sun instead of the stimulator.  my-back.gif
