Oh Diablo

The air quality in SLC is incredibly disgusting at the moment.  Seriously, there is a brownish orange cloud hovering about ten feet above my head at all times and obstructing my view of the lovely when visible Wasatch Mountains.   Those mountains are the reason I moved here and if this cloud continues to hover every winter, I am going to have to rethink why I live here. It makes me scared to hear the news casters tell me it is dangerous to go outside.  Since I am house bound you know what I am doing, sitting in my favorite corner reading Candy Girl.  Diablo Cody is hilarious, at this point you have probably seen Juno and maybe even read Candy Girl.  If not, get on it, it will lift any clouds that might be hovering over you.  6a00c2251f58b7549d00c22521cbec604a-500pi.jpg

the truth hurts

I have not been this sick since my time in apt 415 in Art Space. Yuck, it is miserable and I am a pain to be around.  Whenever I am sick, I want to be left alone, but then get upset (usually at Luke) for not being there for me.  Not really a win-win situation.  Typically I steer clear of medicine because I find it useless, unless its xanax or loritab. I like natural remedies…no not pot, but that might help at this point. I am talking about ginger, lemon, vitamin C all the things my local Whole Foods sells. Which brings me to the topic of this blog, The Truth Hurts.  I have been reading this hilarious book that has been out forever and I find to be our generations version of the Preppy Handbook called, Stuff White People Like. It hurts my stomach reading it, only because I laugh so hard at how dead on the book is. There is even a chapter on natural medicine.  It is a quick read, you must check it out.

Oasis

I thought I would share with you my favorite space in my house to relax in other than my bed. Since I am one of those people who immediately changes into their P.J’s when they get home, I thought I should find a place other than my bed to enjoy a good book and tea. I am pretty sure my husband started thinking I was depressed, since he would come home in the afternoon to find me in my comfy clothes reading in bed all the time.  Here I am sitting in my corner with most of my xmas presents around me.  I wish I was there right now. Happy New Year, I hope you can all find your own oasis.   hpim0510.JPG
